The Slovak government has received a donation of 5 million euro for the reconstruction of the chateau in Rusovce, in the vicinity of Bratislava.
The money designed for the reconstruction of a groomer as well as the chateaus historical gardens comes from the European Economic Area financial mechanism for the years 2009-2014. The complete reconstruction of the chateau, which will serve as a representational building during the Slovak presidency of the EU in 2016, should cost a total of around 40 million euro.
