The Village of the Year 2017 award went to the northernmost village Oravská Polhora, TASR informed on Thursday. The competition, organised by the Environment Ministry, saw the participation of 20 entrants. The winning village presented exemplary development of local farming, governance and care for the land and environment, while also turning heads with its preservation of local resources, rural communal spirit and folk music.
