The Slovak party Most-Hid has become the 74th member of the European People's Party (EPP), the largest pan-European political organisation.
Most-Hid was created from the moderate wing of the coalition of ethnic Hungarians around its former leader Bela Bugar. It is open to members from all ethnic groups. The European People’s Party admitted Most-Hid despite the opposition from Hungarian ruling party Fidesz and its allies. They wanted to postpone the vote on Most-Hid's membership until after the European Parliament election, set for May 2014.
