Contaminated Dutch eggs discovered in Slovakia

Twenty-four packages of cooked and shelled eggs from the Netherlands contaminated with fipronil pesticide have been found in Vrbové (Trnava region), reported TASR on Wednesday. Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matečná has asked Slovak consumers "to inquire about the origin of food not only in shops but also in restaurants and hotels". She added that the freshness of eggs is of foremost importance and that it "definitely doesn't apply to cooked and shelled eggs from the Netherlands".
