M.R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava (BTS) handled 304,388 passengers in July, wrote TASR on Wednesday. The number represents the highest ever monthly tally in the airport's history spanning 66 years. The second strongest month in the airport's history was July 2008, with approximately 200 fewer passengers. Back in 1997, the airport needed a whole year to handle 300,000 passengers. So far, in 2017, the airport recorded a 7% increase in passengers on a yearly basis. The greatest numbers of people flew to London-Stansted, Dublin, Milan-Bergamo, Moscow-Vnukovo and Antalya in Turkey. This July, over 2,100 tonnes of cargo were transported from or to the airport, representing a year-on-year rise of 8%.
