French President to meet with Slovak Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced plans to visit Salzburg in late August to meet with the prime ministers of Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The three countries form an informal group known as the Slavkov Triangle. The main topic of discussion is expected to be cheap labour and posted workers. "The whole point of this trip is to get better access to the East," stated a source from Élysée Palace. Employees who temporarily work abroad but pay their levies back home are considered to be a form of social dumping for countries of Western Europe. On the other hand, Eastern European countries see such cases as proof of their competitiveness. Fico and Macron will thus attempt to find a compromise on this issue.
