3 new protected areas

Three locations should be included into the list of protected areas in Slovakia. The Environment Ministry suggests that Vinište, Čenkov and Bradlo, home to some of Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats, should be enlisted into the Natura 2000 network. The three Slovak locations are important due to the presence of the common juniper and protected bat species. The southern Slovak area of Čenkov represents a rare example of prairie and forest-steppe within the country. Establishing the network Natura 2000 network was one of the commitments Slovakia had taken on for its entry into the EU.
