The Slovak sprinter Ján Volko has qualified for the semifinal round of the 200-metre sprint at the Wold Athletics Championships in London. In his heat round, he ended third with the final time being 20.52 seconds. "I will try to have the best possible result in the semifinals, but I am not sure if I am going to have enough strength," said Volko after his heat round. The sprinter complained about some issues with his stomach during the run. In total, 24 sprinters qualified for the semifinal round which is to take place on Wednesday, August 9 at 21:55 (CET). Volko also participated in the heat rounds of the 100-meter sprint where he was very close to qualifying for the semifinals, as he was only one hundredth of a second short.
