The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) has announced that Slovaks should prepared themselves for the arrival of fine dust from the Sahara Desert, after being whipped up by winds in northern Africa. "It is very likely that the dust will be in Slovakia within the next few days," informed the institute via its website, adding that it will not be a single day event. Motorists in particular should prepare themselves for finding a brown dust on their cars and white surfaces outside. SHMU also warned that Slovakia's current high temperatures are expected to increase further this week, with a Level 2 alert remaining in place for most of the country, with a Level 3 warning in place for south-western localities on Friday.
