Slovakia has promised to accept sixty new refugees, read the European Commission's statistics on the relocation of refugees according to temporary quotas, reported RTVS on Monday. However, last week Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Slovakia has a fundamental problem with the relocation quotas. Even though all Visegrad Four countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) declare a resistance to accepting refugees, Slovakia is the only of the formation which is not facing administrative action for relocation quotas. So far, Slovakia has accepted 16 refugees. On Saturday, the SME daily wrote that Slovakia will not prolong the stay of Syrians who applied for assylum in Austria. In 2015, Slovakia helped Austria by temporarily accommodating 1,228 people as Austrian capacities were full. "If the situation gets worse, Slovakia is ready to offer Austria this help again," said Michaela Paulenová from the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press department.
