This year's edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival, which took place last week in Györ, Hungary, was the most successful in Slovakia's history. Slovak athletes won 10 medals: one gold, four silvers and five bronzes in judo, athletics, and the speed canoe competitions. Slovakia sent 54 athletes aged between 14 and 17 to the event, which welcomed athletes from 50 European countries. "I believe that our medallists have a big potential to be successful even in older categories," said the head of the Slovak team, Roman Hanzel.
