Robert Fico: Dropping of quota-lawsuit is not definite

The Slovak Government will not act as if the European Court of Justice has already rejected the Slovak and Hungarian lawsuit against the scheme for the mandatory distribution of migrants among individual EU countries, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said on Thursday. He said this in reference to the European Court of Justice's Advocate General, Yves Bot, who on Wednesday recommended that the lawsuit filed by Slovakia and Hungary against the temporary migrant resettlement quota scheme should be dismissed. At a news conference on Thursday, Fico reiterated the Slovak Government's "principled stance", stating that it has a "substantial problem with the quotas". Back in 2015, the Slovak and Hungarian Governments challenged the decision by the Council of the European Union to relocate 120,000 persons within two years in response to the migration crisis.
