EU Commission to address double-quality food

Double standards of food quality in old and new EU-member countries was the topic of discussion between Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and various EU officials in Brussels on Thursday. The European Commission has confirmed that the dual quality of food is a problem and is therefore preparing a new directive to address this issue. The directive, which is expected to be issued in September, should unify the existing rules on food quality. This information was brought by the RTVS correspondent in Brussels, following talks between Slovak Prime Minister Roberto Fico and the European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker.
