Slovakia is to receive €8 million from Eurofunds in support of the fight against extremism and the dissemination of propaganda. This follows the reform plan drawn up by the Interior Ministry in cooperation with the "Effective Public Administration" EU Operational Program. The Interior Ministry states that extremism and propaganda are serious social phenomena that are on the rise in Slovakia, and its manifestations can seriously endanger the security of the state. The ministry highlights that it's important to educate against extremism at every school level. €3.5 million will be dedicated to creating electronic tools able to collect extrinsic data from websites and social networks. €2.5 million will go towards the training of specialists, including police officers and school staff. The target is to cut the number of crimes related to extremism in half.
