Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák took part in several meetings on the sidelines of 11th ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) in New Delhi on Monday including bilateral negotiations with Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.
During the negotiations, Lajčák praised the high level of political dialogue between the two countries based on shared values of democracy and human rights. He also appreciated the Indonesian Darmasiswa Scholarship Program, which annually provides dozens of Slovak students with an opportunity to get to know Indonesia. The partners also addressed bilateral economic co-operation with a view to the meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Co-operation and Slovak-Indonesian business forum to be held on the sidelines of the December meeting of the World Trade Organisation on Bali, Indonesia. On the same day, Lajčák also met with Foreign Minister of New Zealand Murray McCully. The ministers appreciated the level of multilateral co-operation, for example, by supporting each other's nominations in the UNSC and their co-operation within the ISAF in Afghanistan.
