Singapore's President Tony Tan and his first lady are set to pay a five-day official visit to Slovakia between 14 to 18 November, announced Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič's spokesman Marek Trubač. According to Trubač, Gašparovič will be interested to learn from Tan Singapore's experience in building its highly competitive economy and options of support in the innovative spheres of business.
The two presidents will also commemorate the 20th anniversary since diplomatic ties between the nations were established after Slovakia gained independence in 1993. Furthermore, they will debate the current political, economic and cultural co-operation, and will evaluate progress in the aforementioned spheres since Gašparovič's visit to the Asian country in 2006.
