Prime Minister calls for rejecting fascist wartime Slovakia

Prime Minister Robert Fico believes that in the near future, it will be necessary to achieve a political consensus of parties based on democracy and freedom to reject efforts to revitalise the first [wartime] Slovak state and on Slovakia's position in the new European Union. As Fico said at the ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the declaration of the Slovak National Council on the sovereignty of the Slovak Republic, there has been a broad consensus on national and state matters on the political scene since the establishment of the Slovak Republic, but today it is disappearing.
