Eight Slovak universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences are demanding that Education Minister Peter Plavčan review the results of the evaluation of projects under the call for the funding of long-term strategic research. In a joint letter to the minister, they are calling for a prompt and fair assessment by independent experts. On Wednesday, Minister Plavčan promised university rectors to do so, but he will also verify whether the entities that entered the call for funding met the set criteria. Universities and research institutions have found themselves empty-handed, with not a single euro arriving from an allocated euro fund budget of €300 million intended for science and development.
