Slovak racewalker and Olympic winner from Rio de Janeiro 2016 Matej Tóth was temporarily suspended and will not be able to defend his gold medal at this year's World Championship in London. As the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) reported on Sunday, this decision came after discrepancies in his bio-passport were found. As TASR wrote, discrepancies in the passport do not automatically mean that athlete has taken doping substances. "Throughout my entire career, I have been active against unfair practices. Therefore, I am shocked. Now, with the help of respected world experts from various fields, I am fully concentrating on proving that the discrepancies are a result of my organism's natural physiological state," said Tóth. According to the AP agency, Tóth could be punished with a four year ban and he cannot compete until his case is resolved. Tóth's team, Dukla Banská Bystrica has full trust in the athlete and does not believe that he would break doping rules.
