The 52nd Folklore festival Poľana in central Slovakia starts on Friday, the 7th of July. One of the most popular folk culture events focuses mainly on the presentation of traditions from the local Detva region. Each year the program also includes the Ex-pat Sunday part, which includes performances by folklore ensembles of Slovaks living abroad.
