The international folklore festival Východná started in the north-eastern Slovak village of the same name on Thursday evening. The opening ceremony hosted the stars of the TV program Zem spieva or The country is singing, produced by public broadcaster RTVS. More than 2,100 performers will show off their skills at the longest running and largest folklore festival in Slovakia until Sunday, 2ndAt the same time, there will be a festival of rock music held for the 14th time in the west. Topfest in the spa town of Piešťany will host international bands such as Bastille, Skindred, Gogo Bordello and Slot.
