Scientists find Drugs in Waste Water Systems

The scientists from the Slovak technical university in Bratislava have revealed the findings of their research concentrated on the remains of drugs and medicine in the city waste water systems.

In the international comparison of 19 European towns, Bratislava ranks 5th, with methamphetamine being the most common drug in the waste water. Besides the study of the waste water composition, scientists work also on the filters which should prevent the drugs getting into rivers where they can poison fish.
