On Friday, November 8th, the Christmas season unofficially starts in Bratislava with the 14 metres tall Christmas tree being erected at the Main Square. The tree is a 40 year old silver fir and comes from the forests around Bratislava. The official lighting up of the Christmas tree in Bratislava is planned together with the opening of the Christmas markets for November 22nd.
