EU Member States that receive EU money, but fail to respect its principles, should feel the political consequences, said French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview released by the Reuters news agency on Wednesday. Macron acknowledged that there is tension between the eastern and western EU Member States. On Thursday the French president is taking part in the summit of the European Council, and is scheduled to meet separately with the leaders of the Visegrad Group countries, which are the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
