Jaroslav Rezník will be the new Director General of Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) after being chosen by MPs on Tuesday. He will take up his post in August, replacing the runner-up Václav Mika in the second round of a secret ballot. Currently the head of the TASR press agency, Rezník had led the public broadcaster Slovak Radio (Radio Slovakia International's parent company) between 1997 and 2005. He holds degrees in the Slovak and Ukrainian languages and literature from Pavol Jozef Šafárik University.
