Had the vote for a new Banská Bystrica region governor taken place in the first half of June, incumbent governor Marian Kotleba would have received the greatest amount of support from the public, according to a poll by Focus agency quoted by the press agency TASR. Kotleba, who also heads the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS), received 25.9 percent of all votes from the poll's respondents. Local entrepreneur Ján Lunter came second, with his support amounting to 20 percent, followed by Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) MP Martin Klus (on 16.6 percent). The poll was carried out between June 6 - 15 in the Banská Bystrica region. As much as 32.2 percent of those asked were undecided as to who to vote for, while 10.1 percent wouldn't go to the polls.
