Vote on RTVS’s director under criticism

The Association of Independent Producers wrote a letter to MPs asking them to refrain from turning the vote on the director of the public broadcaster RTVS into a political trade, wrote SITA on Monday. As the association also wrote, RTVS is an institution funded by everyone and in these days when democracy is threatened by information wars, independent public media are crucial for society. The producers stress that so far, the election process has been carried out neither in a cultivated nor responsible manner. "Take your responsibilities as representatives of all of us. We don't care which politician likes or dislikes which candidate," reads the letter in which producers remind MPs that their vote is their personal decision and should not be approached from the perspective of their political party. The first round of the election took place last Thursday with Jaroslav Rezník and Václav Mika passing through to the second round due to take place on Thursday June 23^rd.
