Slovakia urged to revise its migrant resettlement policy

The European Commission has urged Slovakia to revise its resettlement policy in the coming weeks, in order to bring it into line with the Council decisions on relocating migrants which entered Europe through Greece and Italy. Slovakia accepted the voluntary commitment of relocating 100 people from the aforementioned countries, although so far has taken only 16 migrants from Greece and none from Italy. The Commission stated that most European Union Member States demonstrate the relocation of migrant asylum-seekers as working, if the political will exists.
