On Tuesday (13-6), the European Parliament extended the list of countries containing cities destined to be European Capitals of Culture, from 2020 to 2033, with the states of the European Free Trade Association. The prestigious title will be given to one, as yet unknown Slovak city in 2026, with a sister Capital of Culture city being in Finland. The European Capital of Culture was Košice, Slovakia's second largest city, in 2013.
