Slovakia wants to be in core of Eurozone

Slovakia is for deepening European integration, as it has proven to be an extraordinarily successful process, said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico after the meeting of the Council of Solidarity and Development of the Slovak Republic last week. At the event, he met with Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák and Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission, in charge of the Energy Union. "We have earned a mandate from our partners to be very active in further integration," said the PM. He also added that were developments to lead to the creation of an EU core, Slovakia's ambition would be to be part of it. Fico expects sensitive decisions in the social system and taxation as part of the process. According to Šefčovič, this kind of discussion is to come in all EU states.
