Educators employed at nursery schools, recreational centres, school clubs and primary art schools should see salary hikes as of September, like their colleagues at primary and secondary schools, stated Education and Science Labour Union head Pavel Ondek on Monday. "We've agreed on 6-percent salary hike", said Ondek, after a meeting with Education Minister Peter Plavčan (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) adding that the decisive element will be to transform them into a Government regulation. Earlier this month school trade unions and the Slovak Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS) failed to agree on pay hikes. Towns and villages are in charge of managing certain specific institutions, including nursery schools, recreational centres, school clubs, primary art schools and canteens.
Nursery school teachers should also get a pay rise
