Slovak MEP Branislav Škripek was elected ordinary chairman of the European Christian Political Movement (ECPM) in Warsaw on Tuesday evening to become the first Slovak at the helm of the European political party uniting national Christian parties across the continent. The movement describes itself as more socially conservative and more eurosceptic than the European People's Party (EPP) associating moderate conservative and Christian parties in the European Parliament. ECPM currently has six MEPs and 50 members from national parliaments across the EU.
