The Slovak national ice hockey team lost two matches at the World Championship in Cologne, Germany, last weekend. On Saturday, the Slovaks were swept 0:6 by Russia and on Sunday, they lost 1:6 against the USA. The national team still has one more match in their group: against Sweden, on Tuesday. In order to clinch their spot in the A-category World Championship in 2018, Slovaks either need to earn at least one point in their last match or if they lose, Italy must not earn three points for a victory against Denmark on Monday.
