Election system to municipalities easier

MPs adopted the amendment of the law on eligibility to vote on Thursday. It will come to force as of 1^st July this year. The amendment states that the additional elections of mayors and local councilors in this term might be announced the latest until the end of October this year. "The new act solves the collision of old and new election laws," said coalition MP Tibor Bernaťák. If the amendment was not passed, the final additional voting could have been done in the time of the new pre-election campaign to municipalities. This way some candidates might have been preferred.
