Latest model of Slovakia’s Aeromobil flying car unveiled

The Slovak start-up AeroMobil unveiled the latest version of its flying car at the Top Marques Show in Monaco on Thursday (20-4). The new 4.0 model has undergone significant changes compared to the previous 3.0 version and is reportedly very close to the final product. The company also announced the beginning of pre-orders for the first 500 aircraft with the price listed as ranging from €1.2 million to €1.5 million, depending on customers' requirements and specifications. The Aeromobil 4.0 will be able to switch from driving mode to flight mode in three minutes and boasts a flying range of 750 kilometres. The vehicle can reportedly reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h on the road, and up to 360 km/h in the air. The craft has a hybrid power system, utilising a 2 litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine powering a 224 kW digital control unit. On the ground it uses an 80kW electric propulsion system.
