The Parliament approved an amendment which secures better protection against salespeople who offer goods in their sales pitches using aggressive or shady tactics. The new law proposed by Smer-SD MPs Anton Martvoň and Otto Brixi on Monday suggests that any entity planning to organise a sales pitch has to notify the Slovak Trade Inspectorate (SOI) first.
In addition, it will be compulsory to submit proposals for the contracts to be concluded at the sales pitch and also the price at which the products will be sold. The Slovak Trade Inspectorate will have the right to visit presentations and stop them if they fail to comply with the conditions. Moreover, the consumers will be able to revoke the contract within 15 days of signing it.
