The Slovak-Polish Office for the Development of Tourism, slated to be established in Slovakia, should open this year, wrote TASR on Wednesday. As the Minister of Transport and Construction State Secretary Peter Ďurček wrote, the intention behind its creation is to bolster tourism flow between Slovakia and Poland and it also aims to promote attractive regions in both countries. "We expect this cooperation to ratchet up the number of Polish tourists in Slovakia as well as the number of Slovak vacationers in Poland." The joint institution will be established under the so-called Carpathian Agreement-Sustainable Development of Tourism. As TASR wrote, "cooperation with Warsaw in the sphere of tourism holds great importance for Slovakia, as Poles make up the majority of the most frequent visitors to Slovakia."
