In February 2017, employment rose year-on-year in several sectors, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. The number of people working grew most significantly in accommodation by 9.2%, followed by restaurants and pubs at 8.2% and in the sale and repair of motor vehicles by 6.8%. Employment also grew in selected market services, in transport and warehousing, in retail, in industry, in information and communications activities and in wholesale. Conversely, the number of employed people dropped only in construction - by 0.5%.
