The Slovak national film awards, the Sun in a Net prizes for 2016, were given out on Friday with the movies Teacher (Učiteľka) and Prominent patient (Masaryk) dominating the evening. For the seventh time, the Slovak Film and Television Academy chose the laureates in 15 categories. The movie Teacher, directed by Jan Hřebejk, won five awards including best film. The movie Prominent Patient by Július Ševčík about Czechoslovakia's wartime foreign minister Ján Masaryk, received eight awards, including most of the technical awards.
