Slovak delegation condemns violence in Syria

State Secretary for Foreign and European Affairs Lukáš Parízek, who led the Slovak delegation at the Brussels "Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region", condemned the escalation of violence in the region in his speech. In reference to the Tuesday gas attack in the Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun, Parízek stated that "we have witnessed one of the harshest attacks on the defenseless population since the outbreak of violence in Syria." According to Parízek, the solution to the conflict will require strong political will of all parties concerned. The main conclusions of the Brussels conference, which took place on April 4-5 was clear support for a political solution of the Syrian conflict and the need to continue providing humanitarian assistance to victims of violence.
