Small retailers will not be restricted from selling goods on Sundays, with a proposal by the opposition OĽaNO NOVA party to forbid Sunday trading being unsuccessful. Parliament debated the topic a few days after the plenum approved the closure of shops during public holidays and rest days. "Among the countries of the European Union, from all these member countries Slovaks work the most. Every fifth Slovak man and woman works on Sundays. The average monthly pay such stores is €537 gross, meaning €440 euro net," said OĽaNO NOVA party member Anna Verešová.
