Revuca, Rimavska Sobota and Rožnava are the districts that have set a negative record exceeding the level of 25 percent unemployment over the long term.
“This situation is unique not only in the European Union, but also within Europe as a whole,” said the head of the think tank Employment Institute, Michal Palenik. He criticized the fact that the powers of regional governments with respect to employment policies are limited and most of them do not even try to influence the situation via, for example, education or supporting mobility.
