Slovak cyclist Peter Sagan of the Bora- Hansgrohe team sprinted to victory in stage five of the Tirreno-Adriatico race in Italy on Sunday. The two-times world champion thus notched up his third victory of the season, following wins in the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne classic last month and on stage three of the Tirreno-Adriatico two days ago. In a hilly 209-kilometre stage, Sagan featured in the peloton throughout the entire race. He made his move just before the final corner, giving his rivals no chance in the final straight. Following this stage, Sagan is 49th overall, losing almost 22 minutes to the leading Columbian Nairo Quintana.
