Slovakia agrees with the recommendation of the Directive of the European Parliament that it should improve the way it fights money laundering, claims the Justice Ministry in material submitted for an interdepartmental review, wrote the SITA press agency on Sunday. According to the ministry, all member states criminalize money laundering; however, there are significant differences in the definition of the act as well as in the amounts of money which the condemned parties have to pay. According to the Justice Ministry, this creates room for financial transactions made with the intention of finding countries with the weakest legislation.
