Slovakia considers it a diplomatic success that the problem of double standards in the quality of foodstuff was included in the European Commission's March resolution. Moreover, the Commission has promised to deal with this issue seriously from now on, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced after the EU summit in Brussels. As he informed, it will be discussed at the top level Forum for a Better Functioning Food Chain in July. "I perceive this problem to be more political than technical. It is about the credibility of the EU as an institution," said Fico.
