Slovakia reported a 14.4-percent drop in illegal migration last year when compared to the records from 2015, the head of the Border and Foreign Police Ladislav Csémi informed on Thursday. The police registered 1,962 illegal crossings of Slovakia's state borders and 208 illegal stays in the country last year. In 2015, when illegal migration was at its highest level since the country joined the Schengen zone, Slovakia recorded 2,313 illegal border crossings and 222 illegal stays.
