Speaker of Parliament Danko visits Poland

The Speaker of Parliament, Andrej Danko, symbolically opened his first official visit to Poland by meeting with representatives of the Slovak Association in Poland on Sunday in Warsaw. They discussed past and current problems facing Slovaks living in Poland. "The Polish state has halted the financing of ethnic minorities," said the Secretary General of the Slovak Association in Poland, Ludomir Molitoris. In his reaction, Danko said he "believes that Poland will find the right way to enable the ethnic Slovak minority living in Poland to maintain its traditions and culture". Danko's visit will continue until Tuesday. His plans include meeting some of Poland's highest political representatives and he will also attend a meeting of the V4 speakers of parliament to discuss political issues related to the European Union.
