In 2016, Slovakia reported a record number of tourists. In total, 5,023,629 visitors spent their holidays in Slovakia, and this is the first time the ceiling of 5 million tourists has been broken. Compared with 2015, which was the best year for Slovakia so far in terms of tourism, this is a 16 percent increase in touristic activities. These statistics come from the Ministry of Transport and Construction.
