The trend of home tourism is increasing with Slovaks preferring holidays in their home country more frequently. They tend to travel and go on holiday more often, their stays are longer, local hotels register more bookings and their prices are increasing, indicates research conducted by a discount portal ZľavaDňa. When traveling abroad, people prefer to go more frequently and for shorter stays than in the past, with the so called city breaks, or weekends in European cities growing in their popularity. The research was conducted at the beginning of this year among 1500 respondents; both clients and hoteliers.
