Cuba's debt to Slovakia could be partly offset by medicines, particularly by a medication to treat so-called diabetic leg, TASR learnt on Wednesday. Slovak Health Minister Tomáš Drucker is currently on a working trip to Cuba, where he is also holding discussions on the opportunities for cooperation in innovative research and development of biomedicine and pharmacy. Medicines developed in Cuba were praised by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico more than a year ago. "Cuba is one of the most advanced countries in terms of developing medication. I'll do everything within my power to import some of them to Slovakia," said Fico on TA3's discussion show 'In Politics' in October 2015.
